Hi there! I just signed up my son, Charlie Briggs, who is a freshman. He came to the first few meetings on Monday nights, but then wasn’t sure if he should keep coming or what he should be doing, exactly. I see that there are some directions for courses on his dashboard. Should he start doing those? Should he come on Monday nights at 5:30?
Hi Ms. Briggs,
This is Kayla Archey. I am the captain of the engineering side of our team. There are two captains one for the engineering side (me) and one for the business side (Meagan). He is welcome to start completing courses as they are published. However, I am currently in the middle of creating this website and the courses that go along with it. I am hoping that this will be a good resource for our new members this year and in future years. These are optional but some will be required in order to help with certain projects or to use certain machines. I will be publishing this information in the Qualification Requirement tab. Please have him come to the meetings on Mondays at 5:30. At our last meeting we assigned everyone present to a project that they will be working on until it is done or until the offseason is done. These projects will help people get hands on experience before our season starts in January. He is welcome to join a project at anytime. I will be assigning projects to anyone who doesn’t already have one at our next meeting. I have just sent you an invitation to join Slack. This is where we do most of our communications. If you have anymore questions please message me, Coach Nic Sikma, Meagan Gellerman, and Nicole Chouinard in as DM. (click the purple icon in the bottom right corner and add each of us before sending your message).
Welcome to the team,
Kayla Archey
